This sapphire and diamond platinum eternity ring was commissioned by a returning client to celebrate the birth of their second child in September.

We had previously created an eternity ring for her, designed to sit alongside her existing wedding and engagement rings. For this commission, the intention was different. This new piece would be worn independently on her right hand, a standalone marker of a significant moment.

Sapphire, the September birthstone, was a natural choice. Platinum was selected to complement her engagement ring and existing jewellery, ensuring tonal continuity while allowing the gemstones to take visual prominence.

A key focus of this bespoke eternity ring was colour matching. Simon sourced sapphires that echoed the richness and quality of those in her engagement ring, reviewing multiple options to achieve a cohesive, vibrant set. Particular care was taken to balance saturation and brilliance so that the sapphires would feel luminous rather than overly dark when set between bright round brilliant diamonds.

We presented variations in stone size and quality, allowing the client to explore proportion and overall rhythm across the band. The final composition alternates vivid blue sapphires with sparkling diamonds, creating a balanced sequence of colour and light. The setting was kept refined and precise, allowing the gemstones to define the aesthetic.

Unlike her previous eternity ring, which integrates into her bridal stack, this platinum eternity ring was designed with independent presence. Its proportions were carefully calibrated to feel substantial yet elegant when worn alone.
