W&W goes back to school

Our expert diamond grader Edwina Elkington and new designer Emma Holloway recently headed back to the classroom to share their experience of working in a creative career with pupils at Thomas’s Clapham School.

Both Edwina and Emma talked about their roles and the story behind the unique jewellery we create here at W&W. After sharing a range of images and resulting pieces, the class were then given the task of finding their own inspiration and transforming their ideas into a jewellery design.

Speaking after the session, Edwina said: “We were so impressed with the range of ideas and creativity on display in the class. We talked them through the process of design, from identifying simple shapes and colours to the finishing touches and how to choose the right gemstones for their creations.”

Emma also commented: “We went into the session hoping to inspire the pupils about creative careers but we both came out of the classroom inspired by the talent and fresh ideas from the pupils at the school.”
