A Mother’s Love

Rings have long been worn as a way of telling one’s life story, so when our client became a mother of twins, she wanted to remodel her classic solitaire diamond engagement ring, to create this magnificent three stone piece.

The process began after the client attended a jewellery design workshop with us last summer. She felt inspired to take the next step in remodelling her ring and came up with the idea of recreating the piece of jewellery as a unique three stone ring, adding two extra diamonds to symbolise her newborn children.

Our in-house designer, Emma, created several exciting design options, that were then presented to the client. The client wanted a piece with a quirky modern look and chose a design with two round brilliant cut diamonds, either side of her central emerald cut stone. This juxtaposition of different shapes helped to create the desired unique finish.

We sourced two 0.50ct round brilliant cut diamonds and set these either side of the emerald cut stone in platinum. The cool tones of the platinum highlight the pure, white colour of the diamonds and merge into a rose gold band, adding warmth and a nod to the current trend for mixed metals.

The design features a unique cross over detail to the wires, maintaining a similar style to the original ring and ensuring the sentiment of the ring the client’s husband originally chose for her remained.
