When Toby was on the hunt for a unique engagement ring, he turned to us on the recommendation of another trusted jeweller. This jeweller, whom we’ve had the pleasure of knowing for many years, knew we could deliver on Toby’s vision and graciously recommended our bespoke jewellery services.

Toby had a heartfelt idea: to use gemstones from a cherished family sapphire and diamond brooch, alongside a new, brilliant diamond, to form the basis of the engagement ring.

The piece was commissioned remotely, so we used all the tools at our disposal to ensure Toby enjoyed the full W&W experience, resulting in the perfect ring for his partner.

Our process began by sharing an array of concepts, including some of our past creations, to explore the delicate asymmetry Toby desired. Through a series of remote consultations and feedback sessions, we refined the design, ultimately selecting a breath-taking oval central diamond. This exquisite diamond was carefully chosen to work harmoniously with the sentimental sapphires and diamonds from Toby’s family heirloom.

Then we set about bringing this vision to life. We started by digitally crafting the design to perfection, ensuring that Toby had a fully comprehensive view of every element of the piece.

Once Toby approved the final design, it was the turn of our skilled craftsmen. The creation of the piece involved two separate casts: one for the yellow gold shank and shoulders, and another for the platinum setting of the oval diamond. This meticulous process ensured that every element of the ring was precisely as Toby envisioned.

The culmination of our efforts was a truly unique engagement ring, ready for its new owner. Toby made a long-distance trip to finally meet us and collect the finished piece, which stood as a testament to the seamless blend of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship.
