Our client approached us about creating a bespoke ring to mark her ruby anniversary. She envisioned something bold and substantial with presence and personality. Keen for a beautiful piece that would last the test of time, we set out to design a ring that embodied this vision whilst ensuring exceptional quality.

Sourcing the perfect ruby was central to the process. We curated an incredible selection to rubies to present to our client with a range of different cuts and proportions, including marquise, oval, and octagon cut gemstones. Keen for the ruby to have a striking presence on her hand rather than be supported by diamond accents, it was an octagon-cut ruby that ultimately captured her attention. Drawn to its sleek lines and contemporary feel, together we explored the idea of setting the stone in an East West orientation to further enhance its modern aesthetic.

Narell, our bespoke jewellery designer, translated this vision on to paper, ensuring every detail was tailored to the client’s taste. She wanted the ruby to take centre stage, so we combined its rich hue with beautiful yellow gold – a combination that allows the stone to glow whilst also enhancing the warmth of the metal.

The final piece is a striking and contemporary ruby ring – strong, sophisticated, and unmistakably her own. Commissioned by her, for her, this incredible custom ring is a stunning example of the joy of bespoke jewellery.
