When our client came to us with the idea of creating a bespoke signet ring for her daughter’s 18th birthday, we knew it would be a project full of meaning and heart. She wanted to incorporate a treasured family crest, as well as two old cut diamonds that had been gifted to her on her own 18th birthday. Now she was ready to pass these jewels on to her daughter in the form of an heirloom reimagined for a new generation.

Her daughter visited our studio to choose the signet ring style that felt just right for her. With guidance and care, we explored different profiles, proportions, and settings until we found the design that resonated with her sense of style.

Only once the ring style had been finalised did we begin work on the seal engraving. Using the family’s coat of arms, we carefully extracted the crest and engraved it into the head of the ring. The old cut diamonds were then star-set into the shoulders—a detail that adds both subtle sparkle and vintage charm. Their soft, glowing facets paired beautifully with the warm gold behind them.

This commission illustrates the power of personalisation.
