This custom pear cut diamond engagement ring is a refined balance of elegance, precision, and practicality – thoughtfully designed to suit both the client’s aesthetic vision and her active lifestyle.

The original intention for this piece took a very different direction. Initial ideas centred around softer, more traditional forms, including a classic three-stone engagement ring. However, through our collaborative design process, the concept evolved into something far more detailed and contemporary. The final design reflects a confident shift towards a refined silhouette, where proportion and flow are carefully considered to suit the client’s hand.

At the centre sits a beautiful pear cut diamond, chosen for its exceptional brilliance and elegant proportions. The diamond is framed by a fine halo of brilliant cut diamonds, enhancing its presence while maintaining a soft, cohesive outline. The shoulders are delicately set with additional brilliant cut diamonds, drawing the eye seamlessly towards the centre stone and adding a subtle layer of light and texture.

A key focus of this design was wearability. The setting has been lowered significantly so that the base of the diamond sits as close to the finger as possible. This not only improves comfort for everyday wear but also enhances the overall aesthetic – creating a more grounded, fluid piece. The centre stone is nestled within a softly contoured, saucer-shaped bezel, offering both protection and a sculptural quality. This allowed the overlapping diamond-set shoulders to flow naturally into the halo, resulting in a harmonious and highly considered composition.

From the outset, the engagement ring was designed alongside its future wedding band. Using digital mapping, a shaped wedding ring was created to sit perfectly against the engagement ring, ensuring a seamless fit. Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, the wedding band introduces a warm contrast to the platinum engagement ring – fulfilling the client’s desire for a two-tone combination while enhancing both pieces aesthetically.

Every element of this bespoke engagement ring has been carefully resolved – from gemstone selection through to proportion, structure, and long-term wearability. A considered design, created not only to be admired, but to be lived in every day.
