This bespoke green sapphire and diamond three band ring was created as a deeply personal piece, designed for our client to wear every day, while quietly honouring the memory of her mother.
The brief was both emotional and aesthetic. Our client came to us wanting to create a ring that felt true to her existing jewellery, something with presence, but not weight; distinctive, yet effortlessly wearable. At the heart of the design was a clear vision: a green gemstone, in exactly the right tone. Not too vivid, not too dark, but soft, nuanced, and personal to her.
We explored a range of gemstones together, including emeralds, green tourmalines and green sapphires. While several stones were considered, it was ultimately the green sapphires that stood apart – offering a subtle, refined hue that aligned perfectly with her vision. One particular stone resonated immediately, standing out from the moment she saw it.
Alongside sourcing the stone, we developed a series of design directions that would give the ring presence without heaviness. The final concept centres around a three stone composition – an oval green sapphire flanked by two round brilliant cut diamonds – set within a sculptural, triple band design.
The three bands create both structure and lightness. By opening up the gallery and separating the bands, the design removes visual weight from the body of the ring while maintaining strong proportions on the hand. The result is a piece that feels substantial in presence yet refined in execution.
The design was developed digitally before being crafted in platinum, allowing for precise control over proportion and wearability. Despite its delicate appearance, the platinum construction ensures durability, making it perfectly suited for everyday wear. The ring sits low against the finger, with smooth, flowing lines that enhance both comfort and elegance.
The finished piece carries a soft, calming palette, where the gentle green of the sapphire is elevated by the brightness of the diamonds and the cool tone of platinum. It is a ring that does not demand attention but rewards it.
Most importantly, it is a piece filled with meaning. Created to remember someone deeply loved, it reflects how bespoke jewellery can hold emotion as much as it does design.
