For this piece, our client reached out to us with his partner’s parents’ ring which featured a beautiful family three carat diamond filled with sentiment and meaning. The stone had once symbolised her parents’ love, and he wanted to transform it into something she would treasure as her own – a modern heirloom that carried its story forward into a new chapter.

The original setting was not to her taste, so together we explored new designs that would let the diamond shine in a way that reflected her style and personality. He had been drawn to one of our previous creations and particularly loved our six-claw setting, which we also recommended for this three-carat round brilliant diamond. Not only does a six-claw setting provide greater security for a stone of this size, but it also allows each claw to be formed more delicately than a four-claw mount. The result is a finer, more balanced outline that enhances the diamond’s brilliance while maintaining absolute strength.

This commission also came with a memorable journey. As a local client to our Battersea studio, he was concerned his partner might pass by and spot him through our front window. When she did walk past, we amusingly had to hide at the back of the studio to not get seen – a light-hearted memory from an already very special story.
