Inspired by their weekend ritual of soft boiled eggs, a US client commissioned a new interpretation of our original ‘boiled egg’ design as an opal engagement ring.

Given the distance, we knew that we would have to utilise the right technology to ensure that vital personal contact was maintained. Richard discussed the design and stone options with Will online to get a really strong understanding of what his future fiancée’s dream engagement ring would entail. Sharing inspiration, designs and every detail online forged a lasting relationship and the creation of a wonderful piece of jewellery.

The finished piece was designed to sit within a powder finished silver shell that cracks open to reveal the ring inside. The engagement ring itself features a luminous opal, set into platinum and surrounded by a halo of tsavorite garnets to create an incredibly personal and unique piece.
