We created this bespoke pear cut diamond engagement ring for a couple who were keen for the design process to be a shared and memorable experience.
During the initial consultation at our bespoke jewellery studio in Battersea, we explored their dream of a solitaire diamond engagement ring. They had a clear vision of a slim yellow gold band with a striking diamond centrepiece, and were particularly drawn to the elegance of oval, pear, or round cuts. Another important detail was the inclusion of a Sri Lankan sapphire hidden within the design, a thoughtful reference to the place they became engaged.
Simon guided the couple through a variety of design inspirations and examples from our portfolio, which sparked the concept for this ring. Shortly after their appointment, he confirmed that she was especially taken with the idea of a pear cut centre stone. To ensure they could find a stone that truly resonated with them, we sourced a collection of pear cut diamonds for the couple to view side by side. With Simon’s careful guidance, during this appointment their chosen diamond was selected – a beautifully proportioned pear cut diamond with exceptional fire and brilliance.
We set the diamond in a platinum claw setting to allow light to flood through the stone. The band was crafted in rich yellow gold to add beautiful contrast and warmth to the piece. Bespoke engagement ring provide scope for beautiful personalisation, whether as part of the main design or as a touch included for the couple’s eyes only. Discreetly tucked beneath the setting of this custom treasure sits a Sri Lankan sapphire, an intimate detail only visible to the wearer. The stone is a nod to their Sri Lankan engagement and adds another layer of sentiment to the design.
When the couple returned to collect the finished ring, her reaction was unforgettable. The moment she opened the box her face lit up, and she could not stop smiling as she admired the sparkle of the diamond.
