At the heart of the original piece was a beautiful cushion-cut diamond, set as a classic solitaire. While the stone itself was full of character and brilliance, they felt ready to enhance the overall look with additional diamonds and a more detailed setting – something that would feel bold, yet still timeless.

We began the process by exploring the W&W portfolio, drawing inspiration from a wide range of bespoke engagement rings we have created in recent years. From hand-drawn sketches to detailed design studies, we worked closely with them to identify ideas, elements, and setting styles that resonated with their vision.

Together, we arrived at a design centred around a diamond halo – a refined and elegant choice that would beautifully frame their cushion-cut centre stone. To add further distinction, we introduced a pair of pear-cut diamonds into the halo, carefully positioned on either side of the main stone. These accents brought both symmetry and sparkle to the overall silhouette, creating a piece that felt gracefully balanced and full of presence.

We refined the design through a series of thoughtful adjustments, ensuring every angle, proportion, and setting detail was just right. Once finalised, the ring was digitally developed and meticulously constructed in platinum. Each component was cast individually, then expertly assembled, and set by hand by our goldsmith.

Given the exceptional quality of the original cushion-cut diamond, we sourced additional diamonds of the same high standard to ensure a flawless finish. The result is a dazzling transformation – from a classic solitaire to a show-stopping platinum engagement ring, imbued with glamour and individuality.
