This commission began with a warm introduction through a shared friend of Narell – a client whose own engagement ring we had created the year before. Soon after, he reached out with a clear vision of what he wanted: a platinum engagement ring featuring a vivid emerald centre stone framed by two sparkling diamonds.

From the first conversation, it was evident that he had done his research and had a distinct idea of the aesthetic he hoped to achieve. We began by sourcing a range of pear and round cut diamonds, alongside a selection of oval and round emerald options to sit at the centre. Each gemstone was reviewed for proportion, hue, and character until the perfect balance was found – a composition that felt timeless yet full of personality.

Crafted in platinum, the ring’s clean, contemporary lines draw focus to the stones themselves. The central emerald brings a deep, captivating green – a colour long associated with renewal and love – while the flanking diamonds add brilliance and light. The overall silhouette is elegant and enduring, designed for everyday wear yet rich in sentiment.

Wanting to include a personal touch that reflected his fiancée’s Scottish heritage, he asked if we could hide a thistle-coloured amethyst inside the band. This thoughtful detail became a secret symbol within the ring – a nod to her roots, seen only by the two of them.

Their engagement took place in spectacular fashion at Mount Fuji.
