This client came to us to create a bespoke engagement ring for his partner. Initially unsure of what he wanted; he approached us to help shape his ideas from the ground up.
To start the process, Simon guided him through a selection of our previous bespoke jewellery commissions to identify styles and design elements that resonated with him. It wasn’t long before a clear picture began to emerge – he was drawn to the elegance of step-cut gemstones and the rich, vibrant green tones.
To bring his vision to life, Simon carefully sourced an exquisite range of gemstones, including emeralds, green tourmalines, and a selection of green and teal sapphires. Among these, a rich teal sapphire caught our client’s eye. To enhance its beauty, we initially considered pairing it with baguette-cut diamonds. However, after some thoughtful exploration, he fell in love with trapezoid-cut diamonds, which beautifully framed the sapphire and added a sophisticated touch to the design.
The choice of metal was another important step in this creative journey. Together, we explored white and yellow gold as well as platinum options for the ring’s band. In the end, the warm tones of yellow gold provided the ideal contrast to the teal sapphire’s mesmerising green and blue hues, allowing the gemstone’s colours to truly pop.
Throughout the process, the client was open-minded and welcomed our input, trusting our expertise to guide him towards a design that was both timeless and distinctive. The result is a stunning teal sapphire bespoke engagement ring that celebrates the harmony of colour, craftsmanship, and personal style – a true testament to the beauty of bespoke design.
