Creating this extraordinary toi et moi engagement ring began with a clear vision. From the very first conversation, James knew he wanted a design that felt different — something modern, meaningful and deeply personal. His goal was to create a ring that perfectly reflected Hannah’s style while weaving in a subtle acknowledgement of his own. The answer revealed itself in the form of their birthstones: a vivid pear-cut emerald for Hannah, and a soft, cushion-cut blue zircon for James.

The contrasting shapes of the stones offered a beautiful design narrative — the elegant, feminine lines of the pear-cut emerald balanced by the more structured, masculine silhouette of the cushion-cut zircon. Once we had sourced a selection of gemstones for them, we explored various combinations, testing proportions, scale, tone and cut until we found the perfect pairing.

From there, the design took shape effortlessly. The emerald and zircon sit in a beautifully asymmetric composition, brought together by a warm yellow-gold band set with glistening white diamonds along the shoulders. The gold enhances the richness of the emerald while allowing the cool blue zircon to shine with clarity and brightness. Together, the colours create a striking and contemporary palette — bold, joyful and full of personality.
