Our client reached out as his beloved signet ring featuring a bloodstone, had sadly gone missing. Keen to honour its memory and create something equally meaningful, he entrusted us with the task of crafting a replacement.
Simon, our in-house expert, took the client through the initial steps of this journey. Together, they explored a curated collection, showcasing a variety of signet rings with different head shapes and sizes. From bold square designs to timeless ovals, each piece was a canvas for something truly unique. Simon also presented a selection of three exceptional bloodstones, each carefully sourced to reflect the spirit of the original ring. One stone, with its rich hue and natural charm, immediately resonated with our client.
Once the design and the bloodstone were chosen, the creation process began. One of the wonderful things about bespoke jewellery is the piece is designed and created to perfectly and exactly fit to you. With larger rings like signet rings ensuring absolute comfort is particularly important. Therefore, our first step was to ensure the ring fitted like a glove, providing a flawless foundation for the artistry to come. With precision and care, the bloodstone was set, becoming the heart of the piece.
The final step was the most intricate and meaningful: the hand-engraving of the seal. Luckily, our client still had the wax imprint of the original ring’s engraving, allowing us to faithfully recreate its design in stunning three-dimensional detail. The finished bloodstone engraved signet ring is more than a replacement; it is a celebration of heritage, brought to life through exceptional craftsmanship.
Whether you’re replacing a lost treasure or crafting something entirely new, a bespoke signet ring from W&W Jewellery is more than a piece of jewellery – it’s your story, beautifully told.
