Bespoke Pink Cushion Cut Engagement Ring
Some bespoke engagement rings begin with a design. Others begin with the search for one very particular stone.
When Michael first approached us, he was still exploring ideas for the engagement ring he wanted to create. He had done his own research, gathered inspiration and picked up a few helpful hints from his partner along the way. Most importantly, he knew he wanted the centre stone to feel exceptional.
He was looking for a cushion-shaped stone with beautiful proportions, presence on the hand and an intense pink colour that remained soft and elegant rather than overpowering.
With those parameters established, Richard began sourcing suitable stones through our specialist network. Finding something that satisfied every element of the brief proved challenging. Very few stones combine the right shape, proportions, size and particular shade of pink – but that is where having access to an international network of specialist gemstone suppliers becomes invaluable!
Once the right pink centre stone was found, the design started to evolve around it.
Rather than introducing traditional symmetrical shoulders, we developed an asymmetric arrangement of pear, marquise and round brilliant-cut diamonds. Each was carefully considered in scale and position, creating a delicate progression towards the cushion-shaped centre stone without competing with it.
Throughout the process, Michael remained closely involved. His ideas, questions and observations became part of the design conversation, while our experience helped translate those ideas into a beautifully balanced piece.
The finished bespoke engagement ring is soft, refined and wonderfully distinctive. Set in yellow gold, the warm metal complements the pink centre beautifully, while the scattered white diamonds bring light and movement to the shoulders.
