Custom Marquise Diamond Engagement Ring

This custom marquise diamond engagement ring was commissioned by a client seeking a design that felt elegant, distinctive and full of character. From the outset, he was drawn to elongated diamond shapes and refined settings, wanting to create a ring that perfectly reflected his partner’s confident sense of style.

During our initial consultations, we explored a variety of design directions, considering how different diamond shapes, proportions and setting styles could influence the overall look and feel of the piece. Some concepts were understated and classic, whilst others embraced a more dramatic and sculptural aesthetic. Together, we carefully assessed how individual diamonds would interact with one another and how their proportions could be balanced to create a harmonious design.

As the process evolved, one concept quickly emerged as the clear favourite. At its centre sat a striking marquise-cut diamond, flanked by a pair of smaller marquise diamonds and complemented by pear-shaped diamonds on either side. The combination created a beautifully balanced composition of elongated and tapering forms, giving the ring an elegant sense of movement and presence.

The design was intentionally bold. The client knew his partner would appreciate a statement engagement ring and wanted the finished piece to feel distinctive whilst remaining sophisticated and timeless. Following a series of refinements to the proportions and setting details, the design moved into production.

A defining feature of the finished ring is the use of talon claws throughout. These elegant settings echo the elongated silhouettes of the diamonds, enhancing the ring’s architectural character whilst allowing the stones to remain the focal point. Every element works together to emphasise the graceful lines and exceptional brilliance of the diamonds.

The completed ring is both eye-catching and refined, combining five carefully selected diamonds in a design that feels cohesive, confident and effortlessly elegant. Through a collaborative design process, the client was able to create a bespoke engagement ring that perfectly captured his partner’s personality and style, resulting in a piece that is every bit as memorable as the proposal itself.
