Radiant Cut Platinum Engagement Ring

This bespoke radiant cut platinum engagement ring began with an exploratory consultation at our London studio, where the client met with Simon to discuss ideas and review examples from our portfolio. Whilst he arrived with an open mind, he was particularly drawn to Art Deco-inspired designs and admired the bold geometry, symmetry and elegance associated with the period.

During the initial design discussions, we explored a variety of possibilities. The client was especially interested in the idea of a structured halo and appreciated the contrast between clean architectural lines and brilliant-cut diamonds. To help refine the concept, Simon sourced a selection of centre stone options, including both radiant-cut and cushion-cut diamonds, alongside trapezoid-shaped side stones in brilliant-cut style.

After comparing the different combinations in person, the client selected a beautiful radiant-cut diamond as the centre stone, paired with brilliant-cut trapezoid side diamonds. The next stage was to determine how best to present the stones. We explored both a more traditional three-stone engagement ring and a design inspired by his original Art Deco references, featuring a geometric halo surround. The latter quickly emerged as the clear favourite.

Building upon these discussions, Narell developed two design concepts for consideration. The chosen design was then refined further through the CAD development process, where proportions, setting details and overall balance were carefully adjusted. Several enhancements were introduced during this stage, including elegant talon claws for the centre diamond, rub-over settings for the trapezoid side stones and delicate grain setting throughout the halo surround.

The finished platinum engagement ring is a striking celebration of Art Deco design. At its centre sits a radiant-cut diamond framed by a geometric halo of brilliant-cut diamonds, complemented by trapezoid side stones that reinforce the ring’s strong architectural character. The combination of shapes, settings and carefully considered proportions creates a piece that captures and reflects light from every angle.

The result is a distinctive and highly individual engagement ring that feels both timeless and contemporary. By combining the client’s vision with Simon’s guidance throughout the bespoke process, we created a truly exceptional piece that perfectly balances glamour, structure and craftsmanship.
