Unique Engagement Ring
Some rings reveal themselves all at once – others invite you to look a little closer.
At first glance, this bespoke oval diamond engagement ring is all about its centre stone: a beautifully elongated oval brilliant-cut diamond, held in warm yellow gold and allowed to take centre stage. The proportions are elegant, with the open setting giving the diamond space to catch the light from every direction. But the closer you look, the more the design begins to unfold.
Rather than framing the oval with a traditional halo, delicate scrolls of polished gold sweep around the centre stone, softening its outline and introducing a sense of movement. Nestled within the shoulders are two marquise-cut diamonds, their tapered shapes sitting naturally amongst the flowing goldwork. They add flashes of light at either side, but remain intentionally secondary to the central diamond.
From above, the ring feels romantic, intricate and whimsical. Turn it to the side, however, and an entirely different layer of the design appears. Beneath the centre stone sits an openwork gallery inspired by the form of a lotus flower. Individual gold petals rise upwards around the diamond, creating a sculptural framework that is almost hidden when the ring is worn. It is one of those details designed as much for the person wearing the ring as for anyone looking at it – a small piece of craftsmanship waiting to be discovered.
That balance between intricacy and restraint became central to the finished piece. The scrolling elements are deliberately open, allowing light and negative space to move through the setting, while the smooth polished band creates a quiet contrast to the more decorative architecture above.
The result is an elegant yet characterful bespoke engagement ring: intricate up close, beautifully proportioned from a distance, and full of detail to discover from every angle.
