Pink Sapphire and Diamond Custom Pendant

Our client, Toby, came to us with a striking cushion-cut pink sapphire that had once formed part of an inherited brooch from his partner’s family. As one of the family’s beloved heirlooms, the gemstone represented a tangible connection to previous generations. Toby wanted to honour that history by transforming it into a bespoke pendant that his partner could wear on their wedding day and treasure for the rest of her life.
From the very first meeting, Toby had a clear vision for the design. Together, we explored inspiration, refined the concept and carefully considered every detail, creating a pendant that felt elegant, timeless and perfectly suited to both the significance of the gemstone and the occasion it was intended for.
At the heart of the finished design sits the vibrant cushion-cut pink sapphire, framed by a delicate halo of brilliant-cut diamonds that enhance its natural beauty. The soft cushion outline gives the pendant a graceful silhouette, while the carefully balanced halo introduces sparkle and light, creating a refined composition that feels both classic and contemporary.
The pendant was made in rich 18ct yellow gold, selected to complement the sapphire’s vivid pink tones and bring warmth to the overall design. Fine claw settings allow light to pass freely through the gemstone, while the integrated bail creates a clean, uninterrupted profile that allows the pendant to sit beautifully against the neckline. Every detail was considered to ensure the piece feels elegant, balanced and effortless to wear.
Throughout the design journey, Toby was wonderfully thoughtful. He arrived with a clear vision but remained incredibly focused on every detail, carefully considering proportions, setting styles and finishes to ensure the pendant felt timeless, elegant and unmistakably personal.
