Our client came to us with her existing aquamarine ring, which held deep sentiment but had one recurring issue – the large octagon-cut aquamarine repeatedly became loose in its setting. She cherished the design, yet she needed the reassurance that her gemstone would finally be secure.
Our role was to honour the spirit of her original ring while rebuilding it with the quality, precision, and longevity she had hoped for from the very beginning. Upon examining the previous setting, it became clear why the stone continued to shift, the structure simply was not engineered to support such a sizeable octagon stone long-term.
Together we explored how to preserve the look she loved while elevating the craftsmanship. Although her original ring was created in white gold, we recommended transitioning to platinum, chosen for its exceptional durability. Platinum allowed us to sculpt strong, refined claws that echo the aesthetic of her former ring while securing the aquamarine with confidence.
The stone itself is captivating, a cool, crystalline blue with long, elegant facets that create depth and quiet luminosity. The serene, watery tone has a natural presence and is timeless and effortlessly striking.
The final piece is both familiar and entirely renewed. It preserves the sentiment she carried in her original ring while offering the structural integrity and craftsmanship she needed for everyday wear.
A reminder that something treasured can be rebuilt stronger than before, without losing what made it meaningful. An aquamarine custom solitaire ring reborn with care, sentiment, and longevity at its heart.
