Richard and the other winners celebrated being selected at a special event at this season’s Gallagher Premiership Final 2024 which took place on 8 June at Twickenham Stadium, London.
Richard commented: “Thank you to Gallagher for the recognition and opportunity to join the Gallagher Leaders Scrum 2024 with Wayne Barnes at the Gallagher Premiership Final 2024. Congratulations to Northampton Saints and Bath Rugby for an incredible season finale as well as Twickenham Stadium for the capacity crowd and simply brilliant atmosphere.”

The Second Scrum
The second part of the scrum took place at The Belfry on 27th June. Richard and Simon spent the morning playing a round of golf on the Derby Golf Course with Simon Massie-Taylor (CEO Premiership Rugby) and Ugo Monye (former England international rugby player and Broadcaster).
Whilst Simon rediscovered his golfing prowess and won, Richard wasn’t so lucky, which resulted in them running late for a delicious lunch, hosted by Jill Douglas, with the rest of the scrum as well as Wayne Barnes (Barrister and former International Rugby Referee) and Nathan Hines (former Scotland international player) who was representing Gallagher.
The afternoon started with a workshop led by Gallagher’s Steve Bent with fascinating insights and ideas across the wide-ranging topics of leadership and culture. This was followed by Wayne Barnes, Sarah Willingham, Ugo Monye and Simon Massie-Taylor, guided by Jill Douglas, sharing their experiences and ideas of leadership.
Small businesses are rarely part of events like this so thank you to Gallagher for the opportunity and everyone involved for sharing their wisdom.
We look forward to sharing more about the next stage in this exciting opportunity.
